How I tackled my mountain sized to-do list 🏔
I feel like I’m lighter than air…I’m floating. This is what it feels like when there’s nothing on your to do list except for today’s tasks.
It might sound like I'm bragging .... and to be clear, I'm 100% bragging ... I spent the 4th of July holiday weekend at a work retreat in Boston.
Why Boston? Well it was 100 degrees in Atlanta and 700% humidity so naturally I was dying.
Also, New England summers are pleasant and I had some people to meet up north, so I said "fuck it, let's gooooo."
Now what the f is a work retreat, Nermin?
Honestly, it’s better than vacationing with your parents on a cruise.
It’s a dedicated period where you do no client work and you’re working ON your business. Doing things like: building a marketing strategy, reviewing your yearly finances, looking at your hiring decisions for the upcoming year, etc. It's dedicated solely to those things you know you should do (and that take space in your brain when you're not doing those things, while calling yourself "lazy," "procrastinator," and "bad business owner.")
Well I spent a week doing these tasks and got 3 months of podcasts, reels, and newsletters done. Yes, including this one!
This is the final episode in this mental health season and the work retreat should absolutely be part of your quarterly planning.
