Here’s a disgusting stat on scheduling meetings
Welcome, lawyers. This season on the Wildly Successful Law Firm podcast, I’m talking about productivity and time management. Our main character, your client, will be Cinderella. This isn’t a fairy tale, but rather a nightmarish story of what most lawyers experience every day: shitty productivity, unbilled hours, and constantly feeling like you are doing too much and at the same time, not doing enough.
Here’s where we left off last week:
Let’s say Cinderella emailed you, but you didn’t respond. She’s so intent on talking to you, that she picks up the phone and calls you.
She read the amazing 5 star Google reviews that you work SO hard to get. But instead of getting you on the phone, she gets a receptionist/call center. She leaves a voice message saying she has tons of money and wants her childhood home back, no matter the legal cost. The Prince has money, after all, and will pay whatever to keep his wife happy (Happy wife, happy life, right?)
Then after 24 hours, Cinderella gets a call back from your office or your admin or maybe you, scheduling the consult (assuming she hasn’t moved on and hired another attorney). You are a smart attorney and charge for your consults, so when you tell Cinderella it will be $200, she says “Well, Prince isn’t at home right now and he has the credit card information, so I’ll have to call you back.”
Your admin has been strictly advised not to lose any potential clients, so she schedules the meeting, without the consultation fee up front.
A few days before the consult, Cinderella realizes she needs to reschedule because the Prince is surprising her with a trip to Lake Cuomo.
Does Cinderella hire you? No. On the flight to Italy, she met another attorney, who she hired immediately.
Now imagine if you had hired Nermin to make your consult process easier on Cinderella and other clients.
She goes to your website from those 5 star google reviews, and clicks on the “Schedule Consult” button. From there, she see’s the time she wants to meet with you, and pays. As soon as she confirms the appointment, you get an email with the appointment link, AND an email from Stripe saying money is coming to your account.
Now that sounds like a wildly successful day to me!
In this week’s episode of our productivity season, I’m sharing with you my favorite scheduling tool that I use for both myself and my clients:
